While vigilant readers of the Valley Voice may think the KV Show and committee have gone into hibernation, think again.  In fact, the team have been reflecting on this year’s Show, considering the valued feedback from our post-Show survey, meeting with other Show committees to exchange ideas and laying the foundations for February 2025.

Over a hundred community volunteers come together to make the Show possible each year and it’s the core committee of around 15 that lead the Master Plan year round.  With Stephen Wilson taking on the President’s role for the first time last year, one of his priorities is attracting new people with diverse skills to join the team. “While being on a committee isn’t for everyone, we would welcome people getting involved and contributing in a way that suits them,” said Stephen.

While a small percentage of people attending the Show are from out of town, it’s clear that this is a much-loved local community event; one that draws on a myriad of skills and talents to make it familiar yet different each year. “Succession planning is something we haven’t done well to date and I am really keen to strike a balance to retain historical knowledge and expertise while sharing the baton with new members with fresh ideas.”

We invite all existing and prospective members to attend the Annual General Meeting on Monday the 15th of July at 7 pm in the KV Hall.
