The ARTSLAB, in association with Arts in the Valley ART Trail 2024, will be showing a collection of vibrant, new work from five young award-winning artists from Sydney and Melbourne, over the October long weekend at Upper River Hall.
In the winter of 2023, Shark Island Kangaroo Valley asked a young Sydney artist, Lilli Stromland, to invite four emerging artists to join her at an eight day residency in our Art Studio in the hills. Olivia Chin, Susie Choi, Sadhbha Cockburn and Kate Lewis were those four artists, and we have invited them back for another residency and a pop-up art exhibition over the long weekend in October at Upper River Hall.
They will be joined by Kangaroo Valley raised Lauren O’Connor, who was one of the recipients of the Brett Whiteley Travelling Art Scholarship 2023 and who also spent two weeks in residence at Shark Island Kangaroo Valley as part of that fellowship.
As well as being able to see and buy their work over the long weekend as part of the Arts in the Valley ART trail, you are invited to meet them over afternoon tea and hear them speak about their art and inspiration at 2pm on Sunday 6th October at Upper River Hall.
You can read more about each artist on our website: www.artslab.com.au or on the Arts in the Valley website: www.artsinthevalley.net.au/arttrail2024 and you can email for more information about the pop-up exhibition and afternoon tea: events@artslab.com.au
