Valley Voices: Stories from Our Community
A New Digital Audio Series
We’re excited to launch “Valley Voices,” a new digital audio series capturing the rich tapestry of lives and stories that make up our community. As we expand our storytelling from print to digital, we invite you to join us in experiencing these narratives in a new and intimate way – through the actual voices of our community members.
Our inaugural episode features long-time residents Kathy and Simon Harrington, as they prepared to leave the Valley after 18 years. Their story spans five decades, from Naval life with 23 moves across Australia, to finding their place here and becoming integral members of our community through initiatives like Arts in the Valley and the famous cheese-making workshops.
This conversation, recorded on a rainy afternoon on their deck overlooking the Valley they’ve called home for nearly two decades, captures not just their memories of life here, but the chapters that came before – offering insights into how past experiences shape the way we build community and embrace change.
As we begin this new digital journey, we’re starting with a story that embodies what Valley Voices aims to achieve – capturing the essence
of our community through personal narratives that might otherwise go untold. The Harringtons’ story of arriva
l, belonging, and moving on feels like the perfect way to begin. Grab a cuppa and press play.
