Congratulations to our KVPS tennis team who successfully defeated Goulburn East Public School in the semi final of the NSWPSSA South Coast Tennis Knockout by a convincing 6 sets to 2. The kids are now preparing for the regional final on Wednesday the 24th of August against Ulladulla in Milton. Goodluck to the team consisting of Samson Hole, Logan Champion, Caleb Winch, Elsie Moffat, Daisy Little & Claudia Moffat.
KVPS has also entered 3 teams into the Todd Woodbridge Cup (TWC) school competition this year. The TWC is a specifically designed competition for kids in years 3 & 4 (red ball) and years 5 & 6 (orange ball) which uses modified equipment, numeric scoring and mixed gender teams (4 girls and 4 boys/team). The event focuses on teamwork, participation, fun and friendship. For the last 2 years, KVPS has successfully made it to the state finals in Homebush. The first zone round this year will be played in Moss Vale on Friday the 9th of August. Have fun kids!
This term, we have two, great free programs running at our local tennis club. The Australian Tennis Federation (ATF) tennis grant program is funding free tennis coaching for all kids enrolled at KVPS. The program will run on Friday afternoons after school and concludes with a free family BBQ event. Tennis NSW is also funding a fabulous program called Ready to Rally that is specifically designed for teenage girls. This program will run on Tuesday nights 7-8pm. It’s social, fun and active. The next B grade (Wednesday night) and A Grade (Thursday night) adult competition will commence on the 14th and 15th of August. The competition starts at 7pm and usually finishes around 9pm. Each team consists of 4 players. Each player plays 1 set of doubles with each member in their team so it’s a great chance to meet and play with new people. If you’re interested to get involved and be placed in a team or on the reserve list, please contact Peter Stanton or attend a grading night (31st July, 1st, 7th & 8th of August from 7pm).
