The Kangaroo Valley Historical Society is collecting information on the timber Industry and sawmilling, in the past, within the Kangaroo Valley area. We have a very keen young man seeking this information. You never know, there may be a book in the future.

Graham Russell, a past resident of the Valley, has provided the information below showing some of the Sawmills that took timber out of the Valley from 1920 to 1970.

Attached are photographs given to us by Brian Wallace who carried timber out of the Valley. Can you assist with further information or photographs? If yes, please send to hello@kangaroovalleyhistory.com. We can scan originals and return the photograph to you if needed. Please make sure you leave a name and address so we can do this.

If you have a particular interest in a part of the Valley history, please make contact with us. We might be able to assist you in finding the right information. We welcome all queries and certainly welcome anyone who would like to contribute to the history of the Valley through research or conservation as a volunteer for the Historical Society. We have many unique objects displayed in the Museum.
