The message was clear: the Voice matters deeply to our community. From Rosemary Stanton’s nutrition wisdom to our cherished Firey Tales, from local history to community events, you’ve told us that the Voice provides connection in ways that social media simply cannot.
We also heard your concerns about sustainability. Printing costs continue to rise, and we need to find a path forward that ensures the Voice remains vibrant for years to come.
In response to your feedback, we’re implementing changes beginning 1 July 2025.
Print edition changes
The Voice will be available for purchase at $5.00 per copy at key locations throughout the Valley, including the Post Office and selected local businesses. This trial phase will help us gauge the right balance between accessibility and sustainability.
Subscription development
We’re investigating a subscription model based on your feedback. Many of you expressed willingness to support the Voice through annual subscriptions, and we’re working to develop options that will ensure our long-term viability by the end of the year.
Enhanced digital offerings
We recognise that many readers now access the Voice online. We will be improving our digital format while maintaining the familiar layout you value, making articles more accessible while preserving the Voice’s distinctive character.
Throughout this transition, we welcome your continued feedback. Your insights will help shape the future direction of the Voice as we adapt to meet both community needs and financial realities.
The Kangaroo Valley Voice has been the heartbeat of our community for generations. With your support, we’re confident these changes will ensure it continues to reflect the values and heritage of our beautiful valley for years to come.
