Goodbye 2024, and hello 2025!

The end of 2024 was super busy at preschool. Brighter Beginnings visited to provide the four year olds with health checks, then the STEPS eye screening program arrived to check their eyes.

There were also lots of festive preparations and celebrations. The children helped decorate the preschool with art works and baubles. (The chalk decorations on the tree trunk and the veranda rails were amazing!) They made gifts for their families and practiced for the end of year presentation.

Lionel Robinson and Spotty Bear visited and told us a Christmas tale – Spotty had to travel to the North Pole to find Santa Claus, because he had forgotten to write him a letter!

After the show we shared a party picnic morning tea with our families under our decorated maple tree – it was delicious!

Fourteen of our children are heading off to big school. Their families joined us for a special graduation presentation afternoon. The children sang and danced to some favourite music, then they each received a certificate and a gift. We wish them all the very best as they progress in their education.

The children have loved having treasure hunts in the garden. Over the year they have had to find jungle animals and dinosaurs in the garden, then mark them off on a “spotto” sheet. There were some Christmas characters hiding during the last weeks of 2024 – the children were keen observers, finding every character!

The new year will see some old friends returning, and new friends arriving at the preschool. Here’s to another great year of friendship, fun and learning.
