Lion’s Roar

Mid December Lions awarded two scholarships to two students leaving their final year at the local primary school. The scholarship is awarded to students who best meet the two criteria:
Demonstrating the quality of the school motto “Happiness through Helping”.
Demonstrating that you apply yourself in all areas of school life.

Congratulations to both Elsie Moffat and Sam Hole who have been awarded this year.  Both will be attending Chevalier College, and the club wishes them all the best for the future.

Your local lions club moved the raffle from Christmas Eve to New Years eve due to weather and other changes in circumstances.  You can see the goods on offer and congratulations to our winner pictured on stage with the jumper.  She was from Darwin and found our balmy weather too cold.  Second prize went to a local Chloe Riley.  The third price went to a visitor from Perth.  You can also see here some of the team behind the scenes selling tickets and getting ready for the draw.  Thank you to the community for your support.

As you may know Kirsty has been running the Youth Group within Kangaroo Valley.  The range of activities that she has been able to offer have been social, cultural and outdoor and the variety has been rich.  The club acknowledges the hard work that Kirsty puts into this group, and we are sure that it is adding value to their development.  Well done, Kirsty!

The Table Tennis continues Wednesday afternoons and while we have had a few new players always looking for new players to join the fun at the hall.  You do not have to be good as all levels are catered for and the existing players are very supportive of those wanting to join in.

In 2024 we have collected a record number of old spectacles and thank the community for their generosity.  Keep them coming!  Until next time.

Lorraine
