Welcome Gemma!
We recently welcomed Gemma Corner as the new Director at Kangaroo Valley Preschool. Gemma visited our K/1 classrooms with Jacinta to meet with our current Kindergarten teacher Mrs Page and to have a look around our school. We look forward to working closely with Gemma and the rest of the Preschool staff as our preschool students begin their transition to KVPS.
K-2 Visit the Pioneer Museum
Last term our Kindergarten, Year 1 and Year 2 students visited the Pioneer Village Museum as part of their History unit learning about the past. I would like to thank all of the volunteers who help out at the museum to make this valuable resource available to our students. It’s such a practical way to show our kids what living in the past was like in our local community.
I would like to thank Taisha Wilson for volunteering her time to drive our students to the museum and also to Simon and Shelley Shine for providing the bus free of charge. We really appreciate their support of our school!
First Aid Courses held at KVPS
It was great to see a few familiar faces participating in First Aid Courses and workshops at our school with coaches, parents and community members all enhancing their skills to provide life-saving assistance in emergency situations. Thank you to everyone who came along to be part of the training.
PSSA Cricket Knockout Competition
Kangaroo Valley Public School played Robertson Public School in the PSSA Cricket Knockout at Osborne Park on Tuesday 25th March with a win for the team!
Next, we played Gerringong at Osborne Park on a glorious Autumn day, finishing on 114 runs and another win for the team!!!
A massive thank you to Mr Steele and Ms Curtis for helping set up and preparing the team on game day and to the parents for supporting the team.
A huge shoutout to our coach, Graeme. All the skills we have been practising at training were evident in the games we have played so far. We face Bowral next at home.
New Sports Court
Last term, our students and teachers were really excited to see the opening of a brand new sports court for use before school and during breaks as well as during fitness, PDHPE and sport sessions.
It has been a long term goal for the school to be able to improve our court facilities and we are pleased to see that after many years, we have finally been able to provide this much needed upgrade through the Department of Education Project Team.
Please have a look at the new court when you are in the school next as it is such a fantastic resource that our school now has for everyone to enjoy!
PSSA Tennis Knockout Competition

Their next match is against Exeter Public School.
Scots College Fundraiser for KVPS
I would like to thank Tony Banks and all the boys from Scots College, Glengarry Campus that helped on the BBQ at the Kangaroo Valley Show to raise $700 to purchase new library books for our school. We look forward to the boys being able to see these new books on display in the library and read to our K-2 students during their Thursday visits.
School Cross Country Carnival
After a slow start (delayed half an hour for a little bit of rain) the day was a great success! The winning house on the day was Throsby! Congratulations to all the students, who showed great fitness over the day in preparation for Small Schools Cross Country at Willandra.
Small Schools Cross Country
Our 3-6 students competed in the Small School Cross Country Carnival at Willandra against Falls Creek, Terara, Greenwell Point and Nowra Hill Public Schools
