Friday 2 August 2024 saw Kangaroo Valley strut their denim in style, together with the rest of Australia, in celebrating Jeans for Genes Day 2024! Jeans for Genes Day is a national fundraiser that raises funds towards the research into finding cures for childhood illnesses.
Katrina and Lorain made the most of this day by wearing smart denim jackets that matched their blue jeans. The Kangaroo Valley Post Office was beautifully decorated with celebratory denim bunting hung above their verandah as well as above their front counter. What a cheerful atmosphere it created as our generous community and visitors kindly filled up various donation tins placed throughout the village for this worthwhile cause.
Students and educators of Kangaroo Valley Public School (KVPS) did not miss out either! Our local primary school celebrated by having a mufti day and raising a generous contribution towards this fundraiser. The Kangaroo Valley CMRI committee is very grateful to all at KVPS for their kindness and effort put into making this day a success.
Other businesses in the Valley also kindly made their contributions in celebration of this important day. Every cent collected is another step closer to discovering cures for childhood diseases in our country.
The Kangaroo Valley CMRI committee thanks all helpers, our generous community and visitors contributing towards the success of Jeans for Genes Day 2024. After 65 years of successful fundraising, we are grateful and proud to keep our tradition alive with the view of saving the lives of ill children in Australia.
