A crocodile skin covered autograph book, recorded between 1910 and 1917, is on display at the Pioneer Museum and was owned by Sarah Jane Randall.
Sarah was born on 9 September 1878 at Budgong. Her father was John Randall, a farmer, and her mother was Mary Hunt, both from England. Sarah never married and lived at Stanmore whilst conducting a dressmaking business with her sister, Emily. Eventually she moved back to the area at Woodhill and passed away on 3 January 1950 aged 71.
Over the years she met many friends and family who took the time to write in Sarah’s autograph book, a common fad in those days. Here are a few of the many touching messages for you to enjoy.
